GOLF LEAGUE TO BEGIN IN MAY 2011
Please note the changes to the Rutland Roosters Golf League. The format has changed and is designed to provide for fun and interesting play over the course of the season.
Rutland Roosters Golf League
The Rutland Roosters Golf League is a 16 week league which takes place during the summer months. Golfers can earn a handicap by playing in the league. The League has a relaxed format by allowing league members to play their round at anytime durng the week on Monday through Friday, as long as it is played with another league member. The cost of joining the is only $20 for members. Non-members can also join for a fee of $40. The League fees are used to fund the League Tournament which is held at the end of the summer. A dinner with all the trimings and nice prizes are awarded. The golf league has provided a tremendous amount of fun for those that have participated in the past. This year we will be introducing a PAR Board & Ringer Board for all league players to participate in. In addition, throughout the season, we will be introducing new games into the format every month. An individual winner will be determined in these seperate competitions and will earn points toward the overall League Championship.
PAR BOARD & RINGER BOARD EXPLANATIONS
PAR BOARD
The Par Board tracks each participants' pars, birdies and eagles for the year on all courses. The Rooster, with the most gross pars, (or better) will be the winner.
There will be annual award for the Par Board. The Winner will be announced at the September Tournament.
Those Roosters wishing to participate contribute $2.00 each week..
RINGER BOARD
A Ringer Board, which accumulates your best gross score on each hole , will be set up for the season. Each time you play on league day, only the best score is retained on each hole for that course. So if you get a score of 7 strokes on hole # 1, that number will be recorded on the Ringer Board. If the next league day you get a lower score on hole # 1, say a 4, the Ringer Board will record the 4 and the higher score is deleted. A player builds his or her best game over the season.
There will be an annual award for the best game for the Ringer Board participants. The Winner will be announced at the September Tournament.
Those Roosters wishing to participate will contribute $2.00 each week.
If you participate in one board you will receive one mulligan for your round or if you are participating in both boards you will receive two mulligans each round.The cost for participating in both boards is $4.00/week.
League Golf Excursion Planned
This year, we will be taking are league members on a day trip to play an 18 hole round at another course. This round will be played in a tournament format. Each player will be responsible for paying there own greens fees & cart fees at this course. This trip will take place on a weekend day. Participation for league players is optional.
League Members Are entitled to league member pricing.
Remember that on Monday-Thursday after 1:00PM there are golfing with a cart discount specials.

All league rounds will be played as 9 hole rounds of stroke play governed by USGA Rules. The format changes durng the weeks listed below.
